Atletico Madrid are interested in bringing in Luis Alberto in January should Joao Felix be sold, reports from Spain suggest.
A representative of the 30-year-old Biancocelesti midfielder made it clear earlier this month that his client was uncomfortable with his lack of regular usage by Maurizio Sarri this season, noting that all cycles eventually come to an end.
Luis Alberto has only started five Serie A games this season and a departure in January is starting to look like a serious possibility.
As reported by Diariogol (via LazioNews24), Lazio president Claudio Lotito is trying to resolve the situation with Luis Alberto but wouldn’t be against selling him in January if a convincing offer arrived, which Atletico Madrid are considering launching.
Diego Simeone’s side are preparing to possibly lose star youngster Joao Felix and have set an €80m price tag on the 23-year-old. Should they succeed in selling the Portuguese talent, they’d be keen to invest around €25m into a deal for Luis Alberto.
Updates on Luis Alberto’s future are expected in the coming weeks.
