Lazio Keeping an Eye on Iran’s World Cup Hero

Lazio are closely following forward Mehdi Taremi and his progress at the World Cup in Qatar ahead of a possible move next summer.

The Biancocelesti clearly need to pick up a new striker in the coming months following the sale of Vedat Muriqi in the summer, a player who wasn’t truly replaced. The recent hamstring injury suffered by Ciro Immobile revealed the clear lack of depth in the Lazio attack, prompting the club to start planning ahead.

As reported by Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio are keeping a close eye on Taremi’s work at the World Cup and they’re keen on a move in the future, although a January attempt won’t be launched.

Porto value the 30-year-old at around €20 million, making him far out of reach for the Biancocelesti in the winter transfer window.

Next summer, however, Taremi would only have one year left on his contract and would be more much accessible.
