Lazio Searching for New Midfielder and Left Back: All the Names

Lazio know exactly what they need in the upcoming January transfer window, a new midfielder and left back.

Maurizio Sarri is desperate for the club to pick up some reinforcements in the coming weeks as he looks to fight for a top four finish with the Biancocelesti. A few obvious holes are present in the squad and the work in the summer was only the beginning of the overhaul in the Italian capital.

As detailed by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Sarri’s top target for January is Hellas Verona starlet Ivan Ilic, although he could only be signed if Luis Alberto is sold. The liquidity index will again be an issue, so the Spaniard would need to depart before any top signings could be made.

The other priority is to get a new left back, with Elseid Hysaj failing to hit the mark. A number of players are being considered, like Empoli’s Fabiano Parisi, Cremonese’s Emanuele Valeri and Hellas Verona’s Josh Doig.

Looking abroad, sporting director Igli Tare is a fan of Ajax’s Owen Wijndal and Bayer Leverkusen’s Mitchel Bakker.
