Stefan Radu is slowly preparing to say goodbye to Lazio as his contract enters it’s final six months.
The Romanian defender joined the Biancocelesti in July 2008 from FC Dinamo in a deal worth around €4.75 million and he’s gone on to become a stalwart in the Italian capital, becoming Lazio’s all-time record appearance holder.
Radu has played 426 matches for Lazio, helping the side win a number of major honours, including three Coppa Italia titles.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Radu is planning to hang up his boots and retire at the end of the season, when his contract expires with Lazio.
The 36-year-old Romanian veteran is hoping that coach Maurizio Sarri will give him a few more chances in the second half of the season, allowing him to represent the Biancocelesti a little more before his playing career draws to a close.
Radu has only made two brief appearances this season, playing 14 minutes against Feyenoord and 53 minutes against FC Midtjylland.
An absolute living legend that he is.
Surely he will have 2-3 more appearances, coppa is there to, conference league… and also of we are up winning comfortably or injuries God forbid.
One of our most iconic players ever.
