Lazio and Napoli have both started keeping an eye on Bari forward Walid Cheddira ahead of a possible move next summer.
The Biancocelesti still need to pick up a new backup striker following the departure of Vedat Muriqi in the summer. The recent hamstring injury to star forward Ciro Immobile highlighted Lazio’s lack of reliable options up front, prompting Maurizio Sarri to request reinforcements.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio and Napoli are both interested in picking up Cheddira next summer. They’re also facing competition from Nottingham Forest and Sporting CP, with many starting to take notice of the emerging Bari forward.
The Serie B outfit only paid €150,000 for him but he’s worth significantly more now, and is expected to cost around €6-7 million.
The 24-year-old Cheddira is currently in Qatar, being a part of the Moroccan national team for the World Cup, and he seems set to make the jump to a top club in Europe in the coming months.
