Lazio want to agree a new deal with veteran winger Pedro but they’ve started preparing a plan B should the Spaniard decide to leave in the summer.
The 2010 World Cup winner signed a two-year contract with the Biancocelesti when he joined the club on a free transfer last year. With January approaching, Pedro only has around seven months left on his contract with Lazio and the club don’t want to lose the 35-year-old winger.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio want Pedro to sign a new contract but if he decides to leave in the summer, they’ve lined up a possible replacement in Argentina.
Lazio are big fans of Godoy Cruz winger Martin Ojeda, whose contract expires with the Argentinian outfit in December 2023. The 24-year-old would only cost around €8 million in the summer and would be an excellent market opportunity for the Roman club.
Everything depends on Pedro, however, and if he pens a new deal then Lazio won’t pull the trigger on a move for Ojeda.
