Inter are starting to plan ahead for the future and there’s a chance that Francesco Acerbi could be sent back to Lazio.
The 34-year-old Italian centre back joined the Nerazzurri on loan last summer, leaving the Biancocelesti after an incredibly difficult season in the Italian capital.
Acerbi suffered a complete relationship breakdown with the Lazio fans and it quickly became apparent that his time in Rome was drawing to a close.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Inter are thinking about what to do with Acerbi. Coach Simone Inzaghi is pushing for the player to be signed on a permanent deal and the club are willing to satisfy this, but only on one condition.
The Nerazzurri want a discount on the €4m buy option agreed with Lazio last summer. It’s unclear if Claudio Lotito would accept this idea but considering that Acerbi is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2025, his hands may be tied.
