Lazio Exploring Move for Experienced Real Madrid Forward

Lazio have set their sights on expiring Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz and have opened talks with his entourage.

It’s no secret that the Biancocelesti desperately need a new centre forward in the coming months, with the departure of Vedat Muriqi in the summer leaving a gaping hole in the club’s frontline. The recent hamstring injury suffered by Ciro Immobile only highlighted this issue further, prompting Maurizio Sarri to again request a new striker.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio are currently in talks with the agency You First, who represent both Luis Alberto and Mariano Diaz. The 29-year-old’s contract expires with Real Madrid in the summer, making him an interesting and accessible option.

Diaz would be happy to make the move to Italy and is keen for more regular playing time after remaining a bench option in Madrid. This season, the Dominican forward has only played 25 minutes of action across five appearances.
