The Stadio Olimpico pitch has undergone major renovation work following repeated complaints by Lazio and Roma.
Both Maurizio Sarri and Jose Mourinho regularly expressed their frustration with the quality of the playing surface at the stadium over the last 18 months, and their complaints were finally listened to earlier this season. Minor work was carried out during the early stages of this campaign but the World Cup break has allowed proper time for renovations.
As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Sport and Health have been working hard to improve the Stadio Olimpico pitch over the last few weeks, looking to improve the thickness of the grass and the sturdiness of the playing surface.
Technology such as phytolampads, which can reproduce natural sunlight, and other products like plant amino acids and developmental bioactivators were used.
The pitch was also heavily reseeded, and the hope is that the problems with the playing surface will finally be a thing of the past.
