Lotito: ‘Immobile Embodies Lazio Spirit, All Ok With Luka Romero’

Claudio Lotito praised the qualities of Lazio talisman Ciro Immobile and confirmed that things were moving forward regarding Luka Romero’s new contract.

The 32-year-old Italian striker is continuing to be the driving force of Maurizio Sarri’s Biancocelesti squad, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 15 appearances across all competitions.

Immobile is the true leader of the Lazio squad on and off the pitch, and his recent absence due to hamstring injury underlined his importance to the club.

Speaking to Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lotito first spoke highly about Immobile and what he gives to Lazio.

For me Ciro is already a director, an advisor, a son, the captain, the Biancocelesti symbol of the present and the future.

He never gives up, he embodies our spirit. He will give us so much satisfaction even before he stops playing football.

The Lazio president then provided a brief update on Luka Romero’s contract situation. The club are looking to tie him down to a new four-year deal, protecting their star youngster.

Everything is okay, but I haven’t had a moment yet.

Luka Romero is reportedly close to signing the new contract with Lazio, allowing him to return full focus onto the pitch. Sarri will likely give the Argentinian teenager increased minutes in the second half of this season.
