Atletico Madrid Insist on Uncomfortable Lazio Star, Spanish Reports Suggest

Reports from Spain suggest that Atletico Madrid are serious about making a move for Lazio star Luis Alberto.

A representative of the 30-year-old Spaniard admitted last month that his client was uncomfortable with his current situation in the Italian capital, hardly being used by coach Maurizio Sarri. Luis Alberto has only started in five Serie A games this season and hasn’t yet played a full 90 minutes in the league.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Atletico Madrid are big fans of Luis Alberto and would be happy to pick him up should Joao Felix depart in the coming months, rumours from Spain highlight.

They’re facing competition from both Sevilla and Valencia, but neither of these two clubs are likely to send a concrete offer in January.

Lazio are open to letting Luis Alberto leave but it would take a serious offer of over €20 million to convince Claudio Lotito to give up on the midfielder.

For his part, Luis Alberto has remained a top professional in the Italian capital and has been working hard in training during the World Cup break, keeping his head down and focusing on football.
