Lazio Head Off to Turkey for Mid-Season Retreat: The Details

Lazio have left for Turkey to start their short mid-season training retreat, where they’ll play two friendlies.

The Biancocelesti squad and coach Maurizio Sarri are keen to be in top form for the second half of the season and have been working hard in Formello since their holidays drew to a close earlier this month.

World Cup duo Matias Vecino and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic have now returned to the Lazio environment and joined their teammates for the trip.

As detailed by Corriere della Sera (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio will spend this week in Manavgat, Turkey, on the Mediterranean coast. The squad will play two friendlies before departing on 17th December, giving them a chance to work up some match fitness.

The first friendly is against Galatasaray on 13th December at 16:00 Italian time, a match where they’ll find numerous former Serie A stars like Dries Mertens and Mauro Icardi.

The second friendly is against Hatayspor and has been scheduled for 16th December. No time has been confirmed yet.
