Lazio have entered the race for Hellas Verona starlet Josh Doig but are facing significant competition in Italy.

The 20-year-old Scottish left back immediately hit the ground running in Serie A after making his €3.6 million move from Hibernian to Verona in the summer. Doig has scored two goals and provided two assists in nine league games, attracting the attention of a number of clubs across the Italian peninsula.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio are keeping a close eye on Doig and could look to make a move for the Scot in the coming months, although they’re not alone in their appreciation of the Hellas Verona left back.

Atalanta, Bologna and Roma are all also keen on the 20-year-old, who is valued at around €8 million by the Gialloblu.

It’s unlikely that the Biancocelesti would be willing to invest this amount in January for the Scot but this could change should they generate some funds through player sales.
