Lazio Show Positive Signs in Friendly Win Over Galatasaray

Lazio had a good test in their friendly match against Galatasaray, coming back from behind to secure a 2-1 win.

The Biancocelesti are currently on their short mid-season retreat in Turkey, where they scheduled friendlies against Galatasaray and Hatayspor. The team will return to Rome later this week and could head off to Spain for a friendly against Cadiz, allowing them to build match fitness ahead of the second half of the Serie A season.

Lazio’s friendly against Galatasaray did not get off to the best start as Burak Yilmaz gave the Turkish outfit a 1-0 lead after just four minutes. The Roman club settled after this and soon found an equaliser through Felipe Anderson, who drew things level in the 11th minute.

Both sides worked hard after this, jostling for the advantage, but it was Maurizio Sarri’s side who came out on top thanks to Luis Alberto, who slotted the ball home in the 46th minute to put Lazio 2-1 up.

Galatasaray pushed for an equaliser in the second half but the Lazio defence held firm, holding onto their advantage and securing the win.

It was an important and positive test for Lazio, who’ll be feeling confident of their abilities ahead of their next friendly against Hatayspor.
