The injury to Salernitana goalkeeper Luigi Sepe has forced them to search for a backup in January and they’re considering approaching Lazio to explore a deal.

The Biancocelesti signed both Luis Maximiano and Ivan Provedel in the summer, with the expectation being that the former would be the starter and the latter the reliable backup.

The Portuguese shot stopper had a disastrous debut, getting sent off after just six minutes, and Provedel’s strong performances since then have made him the clear number one in Rome.

As reported by TuttoSalernitana (via LazioNews24), Salernitana are planning to sign a new goalkeeper on loan in January and they’re keen to pick up either Luis Maximiano or Lazio third choice Marius Adamonis.

The former may welcome the chance to show his skills in Serie A after his poor debut and the latter has already spent two seasons in Salerno, being a part of the Granata squad for the 2017-18 and 2020-21 seasons.
