Lazio defender Dimitrije Kamenovic is close to joining Czech outfit Sparta Prague on loan in January.

The 22-year-old Serbian centre back has hardly made an impact in Rome after joining the club last year from FK Čukarički in a deal worth around €3 million. Last campaign, Kamenovic made one appearance under Maurizio Sarri and this season he’s yet to play a single minute, being relegated to the bench.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio are close to sending Kamenovic to Sparta Prague on a six-month loan deal with a €2.5 million buy option attached, giving him the chance to relaunch his career after a tough 18 months in the Italian capital.

The 22-year-old will be hoping to find more regular minutes in the Czech Republic as he looks to continue his development and try to reach his potential.

Kamenovic takes one of the two non-EU player slots in the Lazio squad, so his departure in January gives the team a little more flexibility when looking for reinforcements.
