Lazio & Roma Relieved as Stadio Olimpico Pitch Overhauled

The Stadio Olimpico pitch is in almost perfect condition after being restored during the World Cup break, giving Lazio and Roma the perfect Christmas gift.

Both Maurizio Sarri and Jose Mourinho have complained about the quality of the playing surface in Rome, frustrated with the poor condition and the effect it has on their players.

Government organisation Sport and Health promised to work on a solution during the mid-season World Cup break and the latest photos show the improvements made in the Italian capital.

As shown by Solo La Lazio, the Stadio Olimpico pitch now looks to be in impressive condition following the work carried out by Sport and Health, looking significantly greener, more consistent and healthy.

Roma will be the first to try out the new playing surface, facing Bologna at home on 4th January. Lazio will get a chance to play on the pitch on 8th January, when they host Empoli.

Both Sarri and Mourinho will be hoping that pitch-related issues will now be behind them, although there are fears that the usage of the stadium by the Italian rugby team could cause the problems to return down the line.
