Lazio Ready to Cash In as Premier League Calls for Ex-Striker

Vedat Muriqi seems destined for a top move after an impressive spell with RCD Mallorca and Lazio are happy to see the market interest in their former striker.

The 28-year-old Kosovan forward never lived up to his €20 million price tag in the Italian capital but found more success following his move to RCD Mallorca in January. After a positive six-month loan spell, he joined the Spanish outfit on a permanent deal in the summer, being sold for €7.7 million.

This season, Muriqi has scored eight goals in 12 La Liga games and has attracted the attention of a number of clubs around Europe.

Spanish reports (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) detail how both Aston Villa and Everton are seriously interested in picking up Muriqi in the upcoming January transfer window, believing the Kosovan could translate his success in Spain to England.

Lazio will be overjoyed with this prospect, having a 45% future resale clause attached to the 28-year-old. Even if the English idea doesn’t pay off, other clubs in Spain are keen on Muriqi, giving the Roman club the chance to further recoup some of the costs of their investment.
