Lazio Midfielder in Doubt for Lecce Clash After Training Absence

Lazio midfielder Danilo Cataldi could miss the upcoming match against Lecce after being forced to miss yesterday’s training session.

The 28-year-old Italian has grown into a key player for Maurizio Sarri following the coach’s arrival last year, proving his abilities as a reliable and passionate defensive midfielder. Cataldi has made 19 appearances across all competitions this season, playing 1284 minutes of action.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Cataldi was forced to miss yesterday’s training session in Formello due to some lower back pain. With only six days left until Lazio’s clash with Lecce, the 28-year-old could be forced to sit out in order to avoid exacerbating the issue.

In the meantime, Sarri decided to try out Marcos Antonio in the training session, preparing to deploy the Brazilian midfielder in case Cataldi is forced to remain on the bench. The Italian is hoping to be fit enough to feature, keen to pick up from where he left off.
