Lazio have announced that defender Dimitrije Kamenovic has been sent to Czech side Sparta Prague on loan.
The 22-year-old Serbian centre back has not convinced Maurizio Sarri of his qualities since the coach’s arrival last year and he’s only been handed one first team appearance, being stuck on the bench.
Kamenovic took up one of the two non-EU player slots in the Lazio squad and cost €3m from FC Cukaricki back in July 2021.
As announced by Sparta Prague, Kamenovic has joined the Czech outfit on a six-month loan deal with a €2.5m buy option attached.
He’ll be desperate to receive some minutes as he looks to continue his development and restore some confidence after a tough 18 months in the Italian capital.
Kamenovic, who is contracted to Lazio until 2026, made his Biancocelesti debut in the final game of last season against Hellas Verona, seeing 45 minutes of action. He is able to play as both a centre back and full back.
