Lazzari Ruled Out of Sassuolo vs Lazio Through Suspension

Manuel Lazzari will not take part in Lazio’s upcoming Serie A clash with Sassuolo after picking up his fifth booking of the season.

The 29-year-old Italian had already picked up four yellow cards heading into the draw with Empoli. These came in the win over Bologna, the draw with Torino, the win over Fiorentina and the Derby victory over Roma.

As highlighted by LazioNews24, Lazzari picked up a yellow card in the 43rd minute of Lazio’s 2-2 draw with Empoli, meaning he’ll be suspended for the next Serie A game. Maurizio Sarri’s side will face off against Sassuolo on 15th January.

It was a seemingly smart booking for Lazzari, who will now not be at risk of missing the tough games against Milan and Fiorentina at the end of the month.

The Italian right back’s absence will force Sarri to tinker with his squad a little, with one possible solution being to deploy Adam Marusic on the right and Elseid Hysaj on the left.
