Lazio Planning Move for Reliable Torino Forward

Lazio are interested in picking up Torino’s Antonio Sanabria this month but must resolve a key issue first.

It’s no secret now that coach Maurizio Sarri has been desperate for the club to bring in a new backup striker following the departure of Vedat Muriqi in the summer. Talismanic forward Ciro Immobile suffered a hamstring injury in the first half of this season and his absence was painfully felt, making Lazio’s need for a backup obvious to all.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio are seriously interested in Sanabria and the arrival of Eldor Shomurodov at Torino could convince them to give up on the Paraguayan forward.

The Biancocelesti need to contend with a serious issue, the now infamous liquidity index. The club must either sell Mohamed Fares or receive a cash injection from Claudio Lotito in order to complete the move.

Should Sanabria arrive in Rome this month, it would all but close the door on the possibility of seeing Juventus loanee Luca Pellegrini join the club, at least until the summer.
