Lotito on Transfer Window: ‘Lazio Will Start Off With a Bang’

Lazio president Claudio Lotito looked to calm anxious fans as the January transfer window rumbles on.

The Biancocelesti have not yet made any first team signings this month but clearly have a few holes in their squad heading into the second half of the season. Maurizio Sarri has specifically requested a new left back and back up striker, and now a number of players are being considered for possible low-cost moves.

Speaking to Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lotito discussed if Lazio were interested in Torino forward Antonio Sanabria and what the team were looking to do in this month’s transfer window.

I’ve never spoken about him and in any case there’s no need for any cash injection. I’ve already done those in the recent past. I know how to do it now, but without any proclamations.

The fans must rest assured, I’ve already said that we’ll start off with a bang, like the fireworks you admired at the Hilton hotel.

One player Lazio are seemingly incredibly keen on is Juventus loanee Luca Pellegrini, who is currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt. Sarri is keen to work with the 23-year-old Italian, who himself would like to make the move to Rome. The deal may have to wait until the summer, however, when Lazio will have more resources to work with.
