Referee Pairetto Assigned for Sassuolo vs Lazio, Guida on VAR

Referee Luca Pairetto has been assigned to officiate the upcoming Serie A clash between Sassuolo and Lazio.

The Biancocelesti will be desperate to snatch all three points on the road this weekend, keen to bounce back from their miserable start to 2023. Lazio have only picked up one point from their first two outings of the year and risk falling behind in the race for a top four finish should things continue.

Sassuolo have had a difficult season under Alessio Dionisi and currently sit 16th in the Serie A table, picking up just four wins from 17 games. They haven’t won since a 2-1 victory over Hellas Verona back on 24th October, so they’ll be working hard to finally give their fans something to smile about.

Below is the full officiating team for Sassuolo vs Lazio:

  • Referee: Luca Pairetto
  • Assistant referees: Luca Mondin – Salvatore Lombardo
  • Fourth official: Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi
  • VAR: Marco Guida
  • VAR Assistant: Antonio Rapuano

The 38-year-old Pairetto has overseen 12 Lazio matches in the past – eight wins, one draw and three losses. Across those games, he’s handed the Biancocelesti 21 yellow cards, one second yellow card (to Francesco Acerbi) and awarded four penalties.
