Ciro Immobile is feeling positive despite suffering an injury scare in Lazio’s 2-0 win over Sassuolo, hopeful that it wasn’t as serious as first feared.
The 32-year-old Italian striker was forced off the pitch after just 15 minutes of the Biancocelesti’s league clash away to the Neroverdi, clutching the back of his right thigh.
Immediately anxiety began to grow, with many concerned that the talismanic figure would be forced to the sidelines for a number of weeks, something that happened in the first half of the campaign.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Immobile felt the right flexor twitch in the clash with Sassuolo and immediately asked Lazio to bring him off, not wanting to take any risks.
The 32-year-old is confident that this decision helped him avoid a serious injury and he’s confident that he’ll be back on the pitch soon.
The Lazio captain will undergo a round of medical tests in the coming days to determine the seriousness of the issue and he’s likely to miss the Coppa Italia clash with Bologna.
