Lazio captain Ciro Immobile will not take part in the upcoming Serie A clash with Scudetto hopefuls Milan.
The 32-year-old Italian striker was forced off the pitch in the 15th minute of the Biancocelesti’s 2-0 win over Sassuolo, clutching the back of his right thigh.
Immobile suffered from hamstring issues in the first half of the season and did not want to take any risks, immediately asking to be brought off the pitch.
A round of medical tests yesterday confirmed that a serious strain has been avoided, but further tests will be carried out today to fully determine his health.
As highlighted by LazioNews24, Immobile will not take part in Lazio’s upcoming clash with Milan, scheduled for 24th January. He’ll also be absent for the Coppa Italia clash with Bologna on 19th January.
The 32-year-old Immobile has continued to be the leading figure in the Lazio squad this season, scoring eight goals and providing five assists across 18 appearances in all competitions.
