Despite his optimism, Ciro Immobile will be forced to miss a number of Lazio games following his latest injury.
The 32-year-old Italian striker asked to be brought off in the 15th minute of the Biancocelesti’s 2-0 win over Sassuolo, feeling a twinge in his right thigh.
The muscle was immediately strapped up on the bench and Immobile was hopeful that he’d stopped just in time, avoiding any serious injuries.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), medical tests have revealed that Immobile has suffered a strain of the semitendinosus of his right hamstring, an injury that will likely force him to the sidelines for around 15-20 days.
The Lazio talisman is therefore expected to miss a number of matches, like the Coppa Italia clash with Bologna and league games against Milan and Fiorentina.
Should the team beat the Rossoblu in the Round of 16 of the cup, Immobile would also likely miss the quarter-final clash against the winner of Juventus-Monza.
