Why Sarri Would Prefer Lazio to Sign Bonazzoli Over Sanabria

Lazio are looking to pick up a new striker this month and Maurizio Sarri has a preference, being a fan of Salernitana’s Federico Bonazzoli.

The Biancocelesti sold backup striker Vedat Muriqi to RCD Mallorca in the summer and failed to pick up a replacement, something that proved problematic in the first half of the season when Ciro Immobile suffered a hamstring injury.

The Lazio captain has again been forced to the sidelines and it’s clear that there’s a gaping hole in the squad, pushing the club to look for a solution on the transfer market.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazio are linked with moves for both Torino’s Antonio Sanabria and Salernitana’s Bonazzoli, and Sarri has a clear preference for the latter. The reason for this is the 25-year-old’s tactical flexibility, being able to play across the front line.

Immobile has been ruled out of action for around 15-20 days, putting pressure on the club to find a backup fast.
