Lazio Offer Basic to Salernitana, Rumours Suggest

Lazio are looking to make space in their squad for new signings and have reportedly offered Toma Basic to Salernitana.

With less than 10 days left in the January transfer window, the Biancocelesti still haven’t picked up any players, only managing to send Dimitrije Kamenovic to Slavia Prague.

The liquidity index is blocking the Roman club from making any signings, forcing them to trim their squad a little more before adding some reinforcements.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio had been hoping to sell or loan out Mohamed Fares this month but little progress has been made, so the club have offered Basic to Salernitana.

The Croatian midfielder, who arrived from Bordeaux for €7m back in August 2021, has struggled for consistent minutes this season under Maurizio Sarri, only playing 361 minutes of Serie A action.

The Biancocelesti have been a little disappointed with Basic’s slow adaption to life in Italy and a six-month loan spell in Salerno could help him find his footing in the peninsula.
