Mattia Zaccagni is hoping to receive a salary bump as he prepares for contract renewal talks with Lazio.

The 27-year-old Italian winger is a key player in Maurizio Sarri’s squad, immediately making a difference following his arrival from Hellas Verona in August 2021. The coach specifically highlighted the player following his arrival in Rome that year.

This season, Zaccagni has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 16 Serie A appearances, perfectly complimenting captain Ciro Immobile up front.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Zaccagni is hoping to earn around €2.5m net per season plus add-ons in his next Lazio contract. The winger currently earns €1.8m net per season and his deal expires in 2025.

The club are planning to extend his contract to 2027 but are hoping to spend a little less on his salary. Talks will be held between the Biancocelesti and the Italian’s agent after the closure of the January transfer window.
