Lazio captain Ciro Immobile is slowly recovering from his hamstring injury and has his sights set on the Coppa Italia clash with Juventus.
The 32-year-old Italian striker suffered the hamstring injury in the 15th minute of the Biancocelesti’s 2-0 win over Sassuolo on 15th January, forcing him to miss the 1-0 cup win over Bologna and 4-0 thrashing of defending champions Milan.
As highlighted by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Immobile underwent a round of medical tests yesterday, which showed positive signs for his hamstring injury. The 32-year-old is edging closer to making his return to action, but will still have to wait a little while longer.
The Lazio captain is unlikely to appear in the upcoming game against Fiorentina on 29th January, but is hoping to be available for the Coppa Italia quarter-final clash with Juventus on 2nd February.
Immobile has continued to be a talismanic figure for Lazio this season, scoring eight goals and providing five assists across 18 appearances.
