Lazio vs Fiorentina: Recent History
Lazio started 2023 on the wrong foot, dropping points to Lecce and Empoli, but the team have bounced back in recent weeks, picking up wins over Sassuolo, Bologna and Scudetto hopefuls Milan. Despite a lack of winter reinforcements, the Biancocelesti have started to flex their muscles and look set to put on a determined fight for a top four finish.
Juventus’ 15-point deduction and Inter’s loss to Empoli have allowed Lazio to creep into third in the league table, just one point behind second place Milan.
Fiorentina have not looked themselves this season, struggling to maintain a consistent level and having to fight hard for all three points every weekend. The Viola have only won one of their last five league outings, beating Sassuolo 2-1 on 7th January.
Lazio did not struggle in their first meeting with Fiorentina this season, picking up a 4-0 win in Florence.
