Lazio have officially signed winger Diego Gonzalez on a six-month loan deal from Mexican side Celaya.
The 20-year-old Paraguayan winger is known to be a rising talent in South America and is expected to grow into a regular for his national team in the coming years. Being just under six feet tall, Gonzalez is a physically strong and tricky forward, with a good on-pitch vision and dribbling skills.
As announced by the club, Lazio have signed Gonzalez on a six-month loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy clause attached, adding an intriguing talent to Maurizio Sarri’s squad in the Italian capital.
President Claudio Lotito was proposed the 20-year-old and he was impressed with what he saw, appreciating his character and hard-working mentality. The player is expected to start out in Lazio’s Primavera squad but could start breaking into first team as the season develops.
During his time with Mexican outfit Celaya, Gonzalez scored five goals across 33 appearances.
