Lazio have officially signed left back Luca Pellegrini on a six-month loan deal from Juventus.
The 23-year-old Italian full back spent the first half of the 2022-23 season on loan with Eintracht Frankfurt, where he made 14 appearances across all competitions.
A product of Roma’s youth system, Pellegrini is known to be a Lazio supporter and was specifically highlighted by coach Maurizio Sarri as a strong option to reinforce the squad.
As announced by the club, Lazio have signed Pellegrini from Juventus on a six-month loan deal with a buy option attached.
The Italian left back has already passed his medicals with the Biancocelesti and will now be available to Sarri. The expectation is that he’ll become the new starting left back, dropping Elseid Hysaj to a backup role.
Juventus signed Pellegrini from Roma in July 2019 for around €22m. During his time in Turin, the left back made 21 appearances, spending time on loan with Cagliari and Genoa.
