Maximiano Nightmares at Lazio Continue After Latest Error

Luis Maximiano is bitterly disappointed after his latest error for Lazio and he’ll likely be reduced to a bench role in the Europa Conference League.

The 24-year-old Portuguese shot stopper had hoped to find redemption in the Biancocelesti’s Coppa Italia clash with Juventus, but made a critical positioning error in the dying minutes of the first half, allowing Gleison Bremer to score what would ultimately be the winner.

It was another frustrating moment for Maximiano, whose Lazio debut was marred by a red card after just six minutes.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), coach Maurizio Sarri is now likely to drop Maximiano from the Europa Conference League, putting Ivan Provedel in the starting lineup and leaving the Portugese goalkeeper on the bench.

The shot stopper was visibly disappointed during yesterday’s training session in Formello, looking dejected and distracted after his error against Juventus.

Nottingham Forest offered Lazio €12m for Maximiano in the January transfer window but this was rejected.
