Lazio have resumed talks with Mateja Kezman, the agent of star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, as they look to agree on a new contract.
The 27-year-old Serbian midfielder’s current contract expires with the Biancocelesti in June 2024 and the club have no intention of selling him in the near future, hoping he’ll continue to be a leading figure in Maurizio Sarri’s squad.
Milinkovic-Savic has remained loyal and professional throughout his years in Rome, despite links to various top clubs around Europe, but he may be keen to make the next jump in his career as he approaches his prime.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio have contacted Kezman to try and work on a new contract for Milinkovic-Savic, keen to reach a deal in the coming months.
The Biancocelesti are offering the Serbian star around €5m net per season, including add-ons, and negotiations are looking fairly complicated at this stage. Despite this, Lazio are refusing to give up and want to tie down their talismanic midfielder.
