Pellegrini in Race Against Time After Mid-Season Lazio Move

Luca Pellegrini was Lazio’s only major signing in the January transfer window and now he’s in a race against time to adapt to Maurizio Sarri’s system.

The 23-year-old Italian has joined the Biancocelesti on a six-month loan deal with a buy option attached, adding a talented player to the squad who could easily make the left back role his own.

Pellegrini spent the first half of this season on loan with Eintracht Frankfurt, where he made 14 appearances across all competitions.

As highlighted by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Pellegrini now has the tall task of quickly adapting to Sarri’s system at Lazio, not having the benefit of a pre-season that many of his teammates had.

With the team playing one or two games a week from now until the summer, the 23-year-old will have to work hard to understand the system and tactics. One advantage for him is that he briefly worked with Sarri during their time together at Juventus, before he left on loan.
