Zaccagni Sets Sights on Italy National Team Call-up

Mattia Zaccagni is continuing to shine under Maurizio Sarri this season and the Lazio winger is hoping to break back into the Azzurri squad.

The 27-year-old winger has only made one cap for the Italy national team under Roberto Mancini, playing 45 minutes of a 3-2 friendly win over Turkey back in March 2022.

Zaccagni was called up to Coverciano last summer but withdrew due to a slight tendon issue, a move that surprised and disappointed Mancini and his medical staff.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Zaccagni is desperate to break back into the Italy squad and is hoping his strong work with Lazio this season convinces Mancini to give him another chance.

The Azzurri have qualified for the Final Four stage of the Nations League and the Lazio winger is hoping to maintain his strong form in the second half of this season in order to earn a spot in the squad.
