Figures Behind Lazio’s Deal for Juventus Loanee Pellegrini

Lazio waited until the last gasp of the January transfer window to secure a deal for Juventus loanee Luca Pellegrini.

Biancocelesti coach Maurizio Sarri highlighted the 23-year-old Italian as a strong option in recent months and he soon became the club’s key target in last month’s transfer window.

Things began to look tense as the weeks went by and many fans were concerned that no reinforcements would arrive for the second half of the season.

As detailed by Alfredo Pedulla, Lazio agreed to sign Pellegrini from Juventus on a six-month loan deal with a €12 million buy option attached, lower than the €15 million figure that was widely reported in the days surrounding his move to Rome.

There is also the possibility that the Bianconeri could add a further discount to this.

Should the Biancocelesti activate the buy option attached to Pellegrini’s move, Juventus would hold a 20% future resale clause on the 23-year-old.

The Italian left back is yet to make his debut with Lazio but is desperate to impress Sarri and the fans as he looks to earn a permanent move to the club.
