Lazio Player Ratings for Draining 2-0 Loss to Atalanta

Lazio could not stem the leaks in a fast-paced clash with a hungry Atalanta, falling flat in a 2-0 loss emblematic of their issues.

The Biancocelesti quickly found themselves on the back foot at the Stadio Olimpico as Davide Zappacosta put the Bergamo outfit ahead after just 23 minutes with a curling effort from the edge of the penalty area, raising the tension in Rome.

Lazio tried to respond but were ultimately toothless in possession, having 10 less shots than Atalanta despite completing over 200 passes more. Just as Maurizio Sarriā€™s side started to look truly threatening, a misplaced pass allowed Atalanta to break and Rasmus Hojlund could make no mistake when a low-drilled pass across the box came into his path, allowing him to give his team a 2-0 lead.

The few bright spots for Lazio were goalkeeper Ivan Provedel, who made eight saves and completed 85% of his 34 passes, and defender Nicolo Casale, who made five blocks, three clearances and two interceptions.
