Romagnoli at Risk of Missing Multiple Lazio Games Through Injury

Alessio Romagnoli is at risk of missing up to 20 days of action for Lazio following his injury in the 2-0 loss to Atalanta.

The 28-year-old Italian centre back, who has become somewhat symbolic of the Maurizio Sarri era in Rome, has featured prominently this season, playing 1774 minutes of action across 21 Serie A matches.

Romagnoli was forced off the pitch in the closing stages of the first half of Lazio’s 2-0 loss to Atalanta, looking pained as he held his thigh.

As highlighted by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), there are fears that Romagnoli could be sidelined for up to 20 days following the injury, which could be an issue with his flexor muscle.

The hope is that he simply suffered a muscle contracture, which would only keep him out of the upcoming Europa Conference League clash with CFR Cluj and possibly the next league game against Salernitana.

Should it prove to be a flexor problem, he’ll also miss the game against Sampdoria before possibly returning to face Napoli on 3rd March.
