Lazio Can’t Count on Fans in European Clash With CFR Cluj

Lazio have struggled to sell tickets for their Europa Conference League clash with CFR Cluj, setting up a deserted Stadio Olimpico.

The Biancocelesti disappointed in a chaotic Europa League campaign in the first half of the season, finishing third in a group containing Feyenoord, FC Midtjylland and Sturm Graz.

The team could find some redemption in the Conference League, even if both Maurizio Sarri and Igli Tare have previously expressed doubts about the competition.

As reported by La Repubblica (via LazioNews24), Lazio have only managed to sell around 8000 tickets for their Conference League clash with CFR Cluj, with a maximum attendance of around 10-12,000 expected.

The Stadio Olimpico will be practically deserted for the European encounter, leaving the Biancocelesti without the passionate support of their fans.

There was controversy regarding the ticket prices for the match, which were set at €30 for the Tribuna Tevere and €60 for the Tribuna Monte Mario.

When Lazio hosted CFR Cluj back in the 2019-20 season, only around 5000 spectators were present.
