When Lazio Expect to Recover Romagnoli

Alessio Romagnoli was forced off the pitch in Lazio’s 2-0 loss to Atalanta and is set to be sidelined for a number of weeks.

The 28-year-old Italian defender came off in the 39th minute of the match against la Dea, looking pained as he exited the pitch. Medical tests carried out later confirmed that the centre back had suffered a low-grade injury to his left thigh, forcing him to the sidelines.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazio expect to be without Romagnoli for a number of weeks but are hoping he’ll be fit enough to take part in the clash with Napoli on 3rd March.

Spanish defender Patric will fill in for the 28-year-old, although he didn’t inspire much hope after getting shown a red card after just 15 minutes of the Europa Conference League match with CFR Cluj.

Romagnoli has been a key part of Maurizio Sarri’s squad this season, playing 1774 minutes of action across 21 Serie A appearances.
