Lazio Lose Star Striker Immobile to New Injury

Lazio talisman Ciro Immobile has been sidelined with a new thigh injury, ruling him out of the Conference League clash with AZ Alkmaar.

The 32-year-old Italian striker has struggled to show his best this season as various physical issues hamper his work on the pitch.

Despite the problems he’s faced, Immobile has still managed to be a key figure for Lazio, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in 20 Serie A appearances this season.

Lazio are gearing up for their Europa Conference League Round of 16 first leg clash with AZ Alkmaar, a tough but winnable game for Maurizio Sarri’s side.

As confirmed by Lazio, Immobile has suffered a first-degree injury to the femoral biceps of his left thigh, forcing him to the sidelines. He has already started his recovery process and will be unable to take part in the match with AZ.

The 32-year-old Italian forward is now in doubt for the upcoming clash with Bologna, scheduled for 11th March.
