Will Lazio Star Immobile Be Fit for Derby della Capitale?

Lazio talisman Ciro Immobile may be forced to miss out on the upcoming Derby della Capitale after suffering another muscle injury.

The 32-year-old Italian striker has not had an easy season, often being forced to the sidelines with various muscle issues. Maurizio Sarri has publicly confirmed Immobile’s physical issues, noting how he’s been dealing with an ankle and muscle issues for the entirety of the season.

Immobile did not take part in Lazio’s 2-1 loss to AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of the Conference League Round of 16, and is also unavailable for the upcoming Serie A clash with Bologna.

As highlighted by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Immobile is still recovering from a first-degree injury to his left thigh flexor, his fifth muscle injury of the season. The injury usually carries around a two-week spell on the sidelines, but he’s hoping for a speedy recovery.

Lazio will face Roma in the Derby della Capitale on 19th March and Immobile does not want to miss out. The Italian striker has faced the Giallorossi 17 times in the past, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in that time.
