Pellegrini Expected to Make Lazio Debut Against AZ Alkmaar

Six weeks have passed and Luca Pellegrini still hasn’t made his Lazio debut, but things could finally change in the upcoming clash with AZ Alkmaar.

The 24-year-old Italian left back joined the Biancocelesti on a six-month loan deal with a buy option attached from Juventus on transfer deadline day in January, being a much anticipated arrival amongst supporters.

Pellegrini has not been given a chance by Maurizio Sarri yet, however, and has been left on the bench for every match since his arrival.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Sarri is finally ready to give Pellegrini his Lazio debut in the upcoming Europa Conference League Round of 16 second leg against AZ.

It’s still unclear if the 24-year-old will start or simply come on in the second half, but regardless the Italian left back will finally be able to take to the pitch for the Biancocelesti.

Pellegrini will have to work hard in the coming months to convince Lazio to permanently sign him from Juventus in the summer.
