Following a round of medical tests, Lazio have decided not to risk using Ciro Immobile in the upcoming Derby della Capitale with Roma.
The 33-year-old Italian striker has missed the Biancocelesti’s last three consecutive outings due to a frustrating muscle injury, something he’s already dealt with on a number of occasions this season.
Immobile already missed the first Derby della Capitale of this season and was desperate to take part in the upcoming clash, but the results of yesterday’s MRI have left him in a difficult spot.
Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) details how the MRI showed that Immobile’s injury is healing well but it would still be too much of a risk for him to feature for Lazio against Roma.
Immobile will be able to take advantage of the upcoming international break to recover his strength ahead of the final portion of the season.
The Lazio captain has scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 27 appearances across all competitions this season.
