The upcoming Derby della Capitale between Lazio and Roma is widely expected to be the last for star man Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The 28-year-old Serbian midfielder has faced off against the Giallorossi 14 times since joining the Biancocelesti in August 2015, winning five times, drawing three and losing six. He has netted three goals and provided three assists in these run-ins, playing an important role for Lazio.
Milinkovic-Savic has looked a little off the mark following the World Cup in Qatar, struggling to show his best under Maurizio Sarri. Since the winter break, the Serb has only scored one goal and provided one assist.
As highlighted by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), this will likely be the last Derby della Capitale for Milinkovic-Savic, who is on track to leave Lazio in the summer. With less than 18 months left on his contract, he’s keen to start a new adventure abroad and isn’t willing to renew his deal in Rome.
His agent Mateja Kezman will meet with Lazio president Claudio Lotito in the coming days to reiterate his client’s position, and he’s currently working on finding offers worth around €40m for the 28-year-old.
