Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has long been a standout star for Lazio and his goal against Monza saw him become the most prolific foreign player in the club’s history.
The 28-year-old Serbian midfielder scored his 65th goal for the Biancocelesti with a classy free-kick in their recent 2-0 win over Monza, securing the three points for Maurizio Sarri’s side with a memorable strike.
Milinkovic-Savic is expected to finally leave Lazio in the summer, keen to make the jump to a top club in the prime of his career, but he’s still a fan favourite and clearly feels love for the Roman outfit.
As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Milinkovic-Savic’s goal against Monza was his 65th for Lazio, making him the most prolific foreign player ever for the club, overtaking Goran Pandev (64) and Miroslav Klose (63).
53 of his 65 goals came in Serie A, meaning he’s just one goal behind Klose’s record for league goals with the Biancocelesti.
