Lazio are still hoping to tie down winger Pedro to a new one-year contract, which would see intercity rivals Roma receive just under €1 million.
The Spanish veteran joined the Biancocelesti on a free transfer in August 2021 after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with the Giallorossi, ending a one-year stay with the club.
Pedro has proven himself an important part of Maurizio Sarri’s squad in the Italian capital, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists in 77 appearances across all competitions.
As highlighted by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Roma ensured that they’d be paid just under €1 million should Pedro sign a contract renewal with Lazio following his move in the summer of 2021, something the 35-year-old would technically need to pay himself.
Tenerife and Barcelona are also interested in making a move for the 2010 World Cup winner, but securing qualification to the Champions League would seemingly be enough to convince the veteran to put pen to paper on a new Lazio contract.
